Adrian McCallum holds the degrees of Bachelor of Civil Engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Western Australia (2004), Bachelor of Science with Second Class Honours (1992) from the University of New South Wales, and a Graduate Diploma in Meteorology with High Distinction (1996).
Adrian took up his scholarship in 2007 at the Scott Polar Research Institute, Cambridge University studying for a PhD (Polar Studies).

Researcher and Lecturer, Geotech & Enviro Engineering, School of Science, Education and Engineering, University of the Sunshine Coast
I have various skills and research interests courtesy of a diverse 20-year career across the Australian Defence Forces. My primary research pertains to the use of snow as a construction material and the insitu assessment of snow mechanical properties. My domestic research interests focus on the interplay between science and engineering in ensuring our successful adaptation to climate change. Additionally I am captivated by the pursuit of science in the polar and alpine regions; ideally by light-weight and self-contained expeditions.

Leisa McCarthy holds the degrees of Master of Community Nutrition from the University of Queensland (1997) and Bachelor of Applied Science (Nutritional Science) from the University of Canberra (1996).
Her PhD project is entitled "Household food security issues and impact on health outcomes in Indigenous Australian children aged 6 months to 4 years residing in the Darwin-Palmerston region of the Northern Territory" and will be carried out at the Menzies School of Health Research.

Maria McCarthy holds the degrees of Master of Applied Science (Family Therapy) (1998), a Postgraduate Graduate Diploma of Family Therapy (1992) and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) (1985) from La Trobe University.
In 2010 Maria completed her PhD project entitled "Identification of psychosocial risk and traumatic stress in parents of children newly diagnosed with cancer" which was carried out at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, Melbourne.

Eleanor Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and the University Medal (2009) and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Adelaide. She will undertake the BCL at the University of Oxford commencing in October 2012 for one year.
Eleanor is currently Associate to Justice Jayne Jagot of the Federal Court of Australia. In the past she has volunteered with Amnesty International and did an internship at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. She has been a presenter and producer for community radio station, Radio Adelaide, and is a keen debater.

Sally's PhD project entitled "Do irrational beliefs maintain problem gambling behaviour?" was carried out at the University of Sydney.
In 2010, Sally was awarded a $25,000 allied health start-up grant from the Menzies Foundation to begin groundbreaking research at the Southern Cross University into internet gambling in Australia. > more...
