For more than 30 years the Menzies Foundation has played a key role in supporting health and medical research around the country, with an investment of
approximately $9.2 million. We have taken on the philanthropic role of finding an opportunity to make a difference and becoming a catalyst for change
using limited funds, important networks and hard work on the ground.
In that time we have worked with partners to establish four health institutes: the Menzies School of Health Research in Darwin, the Menzies Institute for Medical Research in Hobart, the Menzies Centre for Health Policy in Sydney and Canberra and the Menzies Health Institute Queensland on the Gold Coast. All four institutes can rightly claim to take new and innovative approaches, coming at the challenges of improving the future health of Australians from every angle.
While our financial support for the Menzies School of Health Research, the Menzies Institute for Medical Research and the Menzies Centre for Health Policy has now ceased, we continue to contribute financially to the Menzies Health Institute Queensland.
