Menzies Square in Jeparit, northwestern Victoria, honours Sir Robert Menzies, who was born and raised in the town. His father James Menzies was a fierce campaigner for the region and was instrumental in having Jeparit proclaimed a town in 1902. The park is a community space that tells the story of how Sir Robert went on to shape Australian politics.
In 2014 the Menzies Foundation committed $35,000 to the redevelopment of Menzies Square. The Victorian Government also provided $165,000, and Federation University and Hindmarsh Shire Council provided further funding. Federation University and Hindmarsh Shire Council also contributed in-kind support to the project.
