We partnered with Griffith University to set up the Menzies Health Institute Queensland (also known as Menzies HIQ), which opened in April 2015 to bring together the university's allied health research.
Menzies HIQ allows Griffith University to enhance its research excellence through collaboration and resource sharing, and support greater engagement between
academic researchers and healthcare professionals nationally and internationally. With its exceptional biomedical, nursing, allied health, social and
behavioural scientists, clinical researchers and research candidates, the institute has achieved remarkable outcomes.
The Menzies Foundation contributes financial support towards the role of the Menzies Foundation Professor of Allied Health Research. The current Professor of Allied Health Research is physiotherapist Professor Michel Coppieters, who was appointed in December 2017.
In September 2016, the inaugural Menzies Foundation Professor of Allied Health, Professor Suzanne Chambers, was appointed as the institute's Director.
